Be Clear on Cancer - Bowel Cancer

The first NHS national bowel cancer symptom awareness campaign launched on 30 January and ran until the end of March 2012.  The campaign advertisements featured on TV and the radio and in other national media.  The campaign message is that 'loose poo' and 'blood in poo' for more than three weeks can be symptoms of bowel cancer and anyone with these symptoms should visit their doctor; and that catching cancer early makes it more treatable.

Resources for GPs and practice staff

On behalf of the Department of Health, Bowel Cancer UK has developed a really useful online resource.  On it there is a short factsheet with essential information about the campaign and about bowel cancer, to support GPs, Q&A sheets for GPs and a factsheet for Practice Staff.
